Katedralna 8, Frombork
The Radziejowski Tower stands in a corner of the fortified Cathedral Hill in Frombork, next to the Gothic archcathedral basilica. An artillery tower once occupied the spot, and the present body of the bell tower dates from the early modern period.
A planetarium run by the Nicolaus Copernicus Museum occupies the lower storey, while higher up a Foucault pendulum demonstrates the rotation of the Earth. A visit therefore combines astronomy with the history of the place where Copernicus worked.
The visit ends on the gallery at the top of the tower, with a view over the cathedral complex, the roofs of the town, the harbour and the waters of the Vistula Lagoon. The site is managed by the museum of the Frombork cathedral complex; access is by stairs, without a lift.
