Towers above the peat bogs

Polesie National Park protects extensive peat bogs, marshes and wet meadows between Włodawa and Łęczna. The terrain is completely flat, so the views are made accessible in a different way than in the mountains — through a network of wooden towers and observation platforms.

Where to find them

The towers stand along the Perehod, Czahary and Insurgent Camp nature trails and above Durne Bagno and Bagno Staw. A marked path leads to each of them, often on boardwalks over the waterlogged ground, so you can cross dry-shod.

What you will see

From the platforms you look out over open calcareous fen and the raised bog of Durne Bagno with its bog woodland in the centre. Bring binoculars for the ponds — this is one of the better places to watch wetland birds and, with luck, elk.
