Wieś Dąbrówka Szczepanowska
Dąbrówka Szczepanowska is a small village in the Tarnów district where an observation tower was raised in 2018 on the Golgota hill, next to the building of the former school. The structure is 16 metres high and has five storeys, each of which serves as a separate viewing platform.
From the upper levels, when the air is clear, you can see the ridge of the Tatra Mountains, and closer at hand the rolling crests of the foothills and the valley of the Dunajec. The panorama changes with every storey, so it is worth pausing on several levels instead of climbing straight to the top. After dark the tower is illuminated, and the power for the lighting comes from solar panels mounted on it, which has made the structure a decorative landmark of the village as well.
This is a short family attraction — climbing up and looking around takes about twenty minutes. The tower is freely accessible and no tickets are sold. The drive from Tarnów takes roughly twenty minutes via Koszyce Wielkie, Rzuchowa and Szczepanowice; the last stretch runs along narrow local roads.
