Wieś Zawoja
Jałowiec (1111 m a.s.l.) is the highest summit of the Przedbabiogórskie range, counted as part of the Beskid Makowski. It rises above Zawoja in the Sucha district, close to Babia Góra. The top is now completely forested, so the views are sought slightly lower, on the open mountain pastures.
The best panorama opens from Hala Trzebuńska, taking in the Beskid Śląski with Barania Góra and Skrzyczne, the Żywiec Basin and the Beskid Żywiecki with Pilsko and the Babia Góra massif. A wooden cross stands at the very top, erected by local people in 2000 to commemorate the visit of cardinals Stefan Wyszyński and Karol Wojtyła.
Jałowiec is reached by the blue trail from Lachowice, about 7 km long and covered in over three hours, and by the green trail from Hucisko, which joins the blue route coming from Stryszawa. The ascents are long but technically easy.
