Jelenia Góra
Grzybek is a lookout tower on Krzywousty Hill within the city limits of Jelenia Góra. It stands 35 metres tall and its viewing platform is covered by a distinctive dome shaped like a mushroom cap, which gave the tower its nickname. The building was opened in 1911, on the 800th anniversary of the town's legendary foundation.
From the platform you can see the Zabobrze district, the centre of Jelenia Góra and the built-up area stretching towards Cieplice. In clear weather the Kaczawskie Mountains, the Rudawy Janowickie and the ridge of the Karkonosze are recognisable. An information board on the platform describes the panorama and helps identify individual peaks.
A green waymarked footpath leads from the town up the hill; the final stretch is a broad, unmarked path. The route is about one kilometre long and takes under half an hour. The wooded hill lies close to the centre, so the tower combines easily with a visit to the old town and the spa district of Cieplice.
