Wieś Młyńczyska
Modyń rises to 1,029 m above sea level over the village of Młyńczyska in the Limanowa district and forms the culmination of the eastern part of the Beskid Wyspowy range. The massif has two summits of almost identical height, separated by a shallow saddle, and its slopes are covered with dense forest.
The wooded summit itself offers no panorama, which is why a wooden viewing tower was built here. From its deck and from the broad clearing on the southern slope you can see the successive domes of the Beskid Wyspowy, the ridges of the Beskid Sądecki, the Pieniny and the Gorce, and in good visibility also the Tatras. Hidden in the same slope is the Modyń Cave, a dozen or so metres long.
Modyń is often left out of trip plans, so the trails stay quiet even at weekends — a good choice for those seeking solitude. The easiest approach follows the blue trail from Młyńczyska: 3.5 km and about an hour and a half of walking, with no technical difficulties, though the final stretch is steep.
