Jedlina-Zdrój
Mount Borowa (853 m above sea level) is the highest elevation of the Wałbrzych Mountains and towers over Jedlina-Zdrój. In 2017 a viewing tower more than 16 metres tall was built here, opening the panorama once again above the treetops.
The tower takes the form of a single-sheet hyperboloid with a sixteen-sided cross section: the outline narrows halfway up and widens towards the top. Some 30 tonnes of steel and 50 cubic metres of concrete went into it, and 90 steps lead to the terrace. The open lattice construction means the view unfolds already during the climb.
From the platform, beside boards explaining the directions, you can recognise the Karkonosze, the Suche Mountains, the Owl Mountains and the Ślęża massif. The most convenient approach follows the red trail from Wałbrzych Główny station; shorter variants start in Jedlina-Zdrój. The summit is wooded, so only the tower itself offers views.
