A tower above the Zielonka Forest

Dziewicza Góra is one of the highest hills near Poznań, in the Czerwonak municipality, right at the edge of the Puszcza Zielonka forest. Its summit is crowned by a tower opened in 2005 on the initiative of the Łopuchówko Forest District. Built as a fire lookout, today it serves mainly visitors.

Structure and the climb

The reinforced-concrete tower, circular in plan, is 40 metres tall, with the viewing platform at 30 metres. It is reached by 172 steps, so the climb takes some effort, though older children manage it easily. From the top a panorama opens over Poznań, the surrounding woods and the hills of Puszcza Zielonka.

Around the site

The tower is a natural starting point for forest walks — marked hiking and cycling trails run nearby, and a rest area with benches has been arranged close to the summit. A visit combines easily with a picnic or a longer trek deeper into the forest.

  • Forest car park at the foot of the hill
  • Rest area with benches and a shelter
  • Marked hiking and cycling trails
  • Information boards on the Puszcza Zielonka forest
Visit duration: approx. 1.5 hours Seasonality: Year-round
