Wieś Staniszów
Witosza (484 m above sea level) lies in the Western Sudetes above the village of Staniszów and is one of the highest points of the Łomnickie Hills. Despite its modest height it works as an excellent viewpoint — from the top you can see a large part of the Karkonosze range with the Śnieżne Kotły cirques and the buildings of Staniszów.
The remains of the 14-metre Bismarck Tower survive on the summit. Inside the hill there are several caves: Skalna Komora, Ucho Igielne, Skalny Tunel and Pustelnia. Most of them are man-made — in the 19th century beer and ice were stored there. Local tradition says one of the grottoes was home to a folk prophet known as the Karkonosze Wernyhora.
A yellow trail runs from the centre of Staniszów to the top, 0.4 km long and walkable in about 15 minutes. There are a few parking spaces at the trailhead, next to the monument to the fallen of the First World War.
