Ustroń
The observation tower stands on Wielka Czantoria (995 m above sea level), the highest peak of the Silesian Beskids in the Ustroń area, right by the Czech border. The steel structure is 30 metres high and lifts its terrace above the treetops, so a full panorama opens up from the otherwise wooded summit.
From the platform you can see the Moravian-Silesian Beskids, Ustroń, the Vistula valley and the Slovak Kysuce region, and when the air is exceptionally clear the Tatras appear on the horizon. The climb up the open metal steps can feel uncomfortable for anyone afraid of heights.
A chairlift runs to the summit from Ustroń. On foot, a yellow trail leads from the town centre over Mała Czantoria and takes about 2 hours. Several food outlets operate at the foot of the tower, and a border ridge trail passes by.
