A terrace above the Kamienna Valley

Złoty Widok (Golden View) is a wooden viewing terrace in the Izera Mountains above Szklarska Poręba, opened in spring 2020. It was built under a Polish-Czech programme creating towers, terraces and viewpoints in the border mountains. The name refers to the golden light in which the Karkonosze range appears from here at dawn and dusk.

What you can see

The platform stands some twenty metres high, which lifts it above the treetops. The view covers the main ridge of the Karkonosze, the Kamienna Valley and the Jelenia Góra Basin. Wooden benches and loungers have been placed on the deck — the place was designed for a longer rest, not only a quick stop.

Access

The shortest approach starts at Jana Matejki street in Szklarska Poręba, where a blue trail begins. The stretch is about half a kilometre and takes fifteen to twenty minutes; the gradient is gentle, so the walk suits children too.
