ul. Górna, Wieś Klucze
Czubatka, also known as Jałowce, is a 382-metre hill in the Kraków-Częstochowa Upland, right next to the village of Klucze, on the border of the Lesser Poland and Silesian provinces. It closes the basin of the Błędów Desert from the south and works as a natural viewing terrace over this unusual landscape.
An observation tower run by the Olkusz Forest District stands on the summit, offering a view of the entire desert — the largest area of inland sand in Europe, still famous a century ago for its mirages. Picnic shelters, benches and information boards describing local nature and history surround the tower.
A yellow waymarked trail leads from Klucze to the top, but the hill is also easy to reach by car — a large free car park lies right below the viewpoint. The visit is short, so it combines well with a walk across the desert sands or a longer route among the Jurassic limestone crags.
