Wieś Krościenko nad Dunajcem
Czertezik is a long, narrow summit rising to 772 m above sea level in the Pieniny Proper, within the municipality of Krościenko nad Dunajcem. To the south-east it neighbours the famous Sokolica, to the west the peak of Czerteż. The upper slopes carry sparse pine and beech woodland, the lower ones beech and fir.
A viewpoint on the top overlooks the middle part of the Dunajec Gorge, one of the most recognisable scenes in the Polish mountains. Below the summit runs a rock face some forty metres high, and nearby lies a small cave discovered in 1953.
The shortest approach follows the green trail from Krościenko: under three kilometres and around an hour and a quarter of walking. A longer option is the blue trail from Szczawnica, taking a little over two hours. Both are steep but well waymarked and run inside the Pieniny National Park.
