Szczyrk
Malinowska Skała (1152 m a.s.l.) lies on the main ridge of the Barania Góra range in the Silesian Beskids, between Malinów and Zielony Kopiec, on the border of Szczyrk and Wisła. The summit itself is wooded, but a few dozen metres to the north stands an imposing rock outcrop that gave the peak its name.
The outcrop is built of coarse conglomerates found only in the Silesian and the Moravian-Silesian Beskids. The block, shaped like a pulpit, is protected as a monument of inanimate nature and ranks among the most photographed motifs of these mountains. The massif also hides the small Malinka Cave with corridors a dozen or so metres long, and a tiny pond lies beside the rock.
Several trails of varying length and difficulty lead to the top. The shortest approaches start in Szczyrk and at the Salmopolska Pass, and the variant from Małe Skrzyczne takes about an hour. These are typical mountain paths requiring trekking boots and, in winter, experience.
