The highest hill on the Polish coast

Góra Gosań, 95 m above sea level, is the highest elevation on the Polish coast. It lies within Woliński National Park, some four kilometres north-east of Międzyzdroje. The cliff drops steeply towards the beach here, forming one of the most characteristic stretches of the island of Wolin.

What you will find on top

The summit holds the remains of an old observation tower and a bunker, next to a roofed shelter and several information boards. The greatest asset, however, is the view: a panorama of Międzyzdroje and Świnoujście and the open Baltic Sea. In good visibility you can make out the wreck of a ship sunk in 1945.

Getting there and around

The hill sits by regional road 102 running from Międzyzdroje to Dziwnów, with the red Coastal Trail passing nearby. Before 1949 the hill bore the name Gosan Berg. A visit takes little time, so it is easily combined with a walk along the cliff section of the park.
