Wieś Karłów
Kopa Śmierci (830 m above sea level) lies within the Stołowe Mountains National Park, east of Karłów in the Kłodzko district. It is a side, far quieter part of the massif than Szczeliniec Wielki or Błędne Skały, valued by walkers looking for peace and quiet.
The top is covered with spruce forest and its highest point is strewn with sandstone blocks, so there is practically no view from the summit itself. The panorama of the Duszniki Basin and the neighbouring ranges opens from the edge of the cliff, where caution is essential. The southern slope is cut by rock walls used by climbers.
A blue-marked trail leads to the top from Karłów, running via Narożnik. The route is about 3.2 km long and takes roughly an hour and a quarter. Inside the national park walking is allowed on marked trails only, so it is worth planning a loop taking in several points of the massif.
