Rymanów
Zamczyska, also called Zamkowa Góra, is a hill 568 m above sea level in the eastern part of the Rymanów Hills in the Low Beskids. Its western slopes drop towards the spa town of Rymanów-Zdrój, which makes the summit a natural destination for walks taken by spa guests and visitors to the area.
The name refers to a stronghold said to have stood above the Tabor valley and to have guarded the Hungarian route leading south from Rymanów. No traces of the building can be seen in the terrain today. Below the summit, however, an old quarry survives — the stone extracted there was used to build the church in Rymanów.
The top is wooded, but in several places the trees thin out and reveal a panorama of the surrounding hills and valleys. A local red trail leads up — the „Rymanów-Zdrój” nature path, 5.5 km long, which takes about two hours to walk. The route is easy but calls for sturdy footwear.
