Wołosate, Wieś Ustrzyki Górne
Bukowe Berdo is an elongated range in the Polish Bieszczady Mountains whose highest point reaches 1311 m above sea level, with two further summits of 1238 and 1201 m. The ridge stretches above the Wołosatka valley and belongs to the most extensive parts of the Bieszczady National Park.
Characteristic features of the massif are the rock outcrops running along the ridge and the poloninas — alpine and subalpine grasslands into which the forest gives way in the summit zone. The ridge is also covered with shrubby forms of rowan, at their finest in autumn when the berries have ripened.
From the highest top you can see ranges already lying on the Ukrainian side of the border. A blue trail leads up from Wołosate, the southernmost village in Poland — 6.1 km and about three hours of walking. The alternative is the approach from Muczne along the yellow and then the blue trail (5.6 km).
