Wisła
Smerekowiec rises to 835 m above sea level in the Silesian Beskids, in the Barania Góra range above Wisła. The summit is entirely covered with spruce forest, so there is no panorama from the top — the name itself refers to the dialect word for spruce. The attraction here is the walk along the forested ridges rather than the view from the crown.
Several waymarked routes lead here. The most popular is the green trail from Wisła Nowa Osada, about an hour and forty-five minutes of walking. The shortest ascent is the yellow trail from the Salmopolska Pass, roughly one hour. A longer option is the yellow trail from Wisła Uzdrowisko, about two and a half hours. All of them follow forest roads with a moderate gradient.
The terrain is technically easy, so the route works well for a relaxed family outing or a walk with a dog, although after rain the paths can get muddy and sturdy footwear helps. Smerekowiec is easy to combine with a longer ridge walk towards Barania Góra. Wisła, with its full range of accommodation, remains the natural base.
