A hill above the Odra valley

Góra Czcibora is a moraine hill 54.5 m above sea level in the Cedynia Hills, a few kilometres from Cedynia and close to the western border of Poland. A stone stairway of 270 steps leads to the top.

Monument and mosaic

The name commemorates Czcibor, brother of Mieszko I, who commanded the troops at the Battle of Cedynia. On the millennium of the clash a fifteen-metre Monument of the Polish Victory on the Odra was erected here, showing an eagle taking flight. A mosaic from the same period stands at the foot of the hill.

View and surroundings

The summit offers a wide panorama of the Odra valley, its backwaters and the fields on both banks. A visit takes half an hour and combines well with a stop in Cedynia or a ride along the Odra cycling route.
