A peak in the Western Bieszczady

Smerek, 1222 m above sea level, closes the ridge of Połonina Wetlińska from the west. Forest covers the lower slopes, while above 1100 metres the open mountain meadow known as połonina begins. The massif has two summits separated by a grassy saddle called Dołyna.

Views

The southern summit, open to hikers and marked by an iron cross, gives a panorama of the Bieszczady and the Sanocko-Turczańskie Mountains. From the lower point you can pick out Wielka Rawka, Połonina Wetlińska, Rabia Skała and the Łopiennik and Durna ranges, with the villages of Smerek and Wetlina below.
