Wieś Zawoja
Mała Babia Góra, also known as Cyl, rises to about 1,517 m above sea level and is the third highest peak of the Polish Beskids. It forms the western end of the Babia Góra massif above Zawoja, within the Babia Góra National Park. Unlike its forested neighbours it has an open, grassy summit.
From the grassy dome a wide view opens over the Beskid ridges: Jałowiec, Barania Góra, Żurawnica, Solnisko, Jasień and Magurka. To the east the eye is drawn towards Diablak, the main summit, separated by the Brona Pass. The origin of the second name, Cyl, remains unclear.
The shortest ascent starts at the Markowe Szczawiny mountain hut: the Main Beskid Trail to the Brona Pass, then the green trail. This section is about 1.8 km long and takes roughly an hour and a quarter. The ridge is exposed and windy and the weather changes fast, so mountain boots and waterproofs are needed. National park rules apply — walking is allowed only on waymarked trails.
