Szczawnica
Jarmuta rises to 794 m above sea level over Szczawnica and closes the Pieniny horizon to the north. The massif has two summits: Jarmuta itself and the lower Czuprana (777 m), separated by the Matwijowa Pass. The slopes are almost entirely forested, which makes the peak feel wilder than the popular viewpoints of the Pieniny.
Despite the dense forest, gaps in the trees open up panoramas of the Radziejowa Range in the Beskid Sądecki and of the Dunajec valley. A television transmitter mast stands on the top and is visible from the centre of Szczawnica. The nearby Andrzejówka clearing is used by paragliders, so in good weather you can watch flights over the valley.
In the 18th century silver ore mines operated in the massif and their adits have survived. No marked hiking trail leads to Jarmuta — walkers reach the top on forest roads and beaten paths, so a map or navigation device is useful.
