A treeless ridge in the Little Beskids

Potrójna is a twin-peaked summit of 884 m above sea level in the eastern part of the Little Beskids, between Kocierska Pass and Łamana Skała. Administratively it belongs to the village of Rzyki in the Wadowice district. The entire ridge is free of trees, which makes it one of the better viewpoints in the range.

The panorama

In good visibility it takes in the Wielka Racza range, the Silesian Foothills, the Bliźniaki range, the Gorce, the Polica range, Babia Góra and the Żywiec Basin, and on clear days the Tatras as well. Two boards describing the panorama stand on the higher peak, while the lower one holds a shepherds' shrine with a figure of the Virgin Mary.

Good to know

Locals have always called the hill Czarny Groń; the name Potrójna most likely comes from a settlement of that name on its slopes. The mountain hut „Chatka na Potrójnej” stands on the slope, and a paragliding launch site lies on the north-eastern side. Access: the red trail from Kocierska Pass (about 3.4 km) or the yellow one from Targanice (5.3 km).
