Zakopane
Kopa Kondracka (2005 m above sea level) closes the Czerwone Wierchy group of the Western Tatras from the east. It rises above three major valleys: Dolina Małej Łąki, Dolina Bystrej and Dolina Cicha. The mountain is built of sedimentary rock — limestone and dolomite — and the summit dome is covered with rock patches where granite-loving plants grow.
Despite passing two thousand metres, the peak is technically easy and very popular, which has left its mark: trodden scree paths reach several dozen metres in width. From the top you can see the whole High Tatras, the neighbouring Czerwone Wierchy and Giewont.
The shortest link runs along the red ridge trail from Ciemniak, about 1 hour 10 minutes. From Zakopane the recommended route is the yellow trail through Dolina Małej Łąki, 6.6 km and roughly 4 hours of walking.
