Wieś Kołodno
The two-storey observation tower stands on Góra Kopna, the highest elevation of the Świętojańskie Hills in the Białystok district, near the village of Kołodno. From the platform you can see the vast forest complexes of the Knyszyn Forest and the valley of the Płoska river — a typically Podlasie landscape, rolling and heavily wooded.
Forest roads and paths cross the hills, ideal for a bike ride or a walk. Besides Góra Kopna, the hills of św. Jan and św. Anna also stand out here. The approach can be steep and the surface is unpaved, while climbing the tower itself takes only a few minutes.
The tower is easy to combine with other destinations in Podlasie. Close by lies the picturesque Królowy Most, a village wrapped in a legend about a bridge built in a single day for King Sigismund Augustus, and the historic 19th-century Orthodox church of St Anne. A good stop during a tour of the region.
