Podlasie Stork Trail

The Podlasie Stork Trail is the longest marked cycling route in the Podlasie region, created in 2002. It runs approximately 412.5 km and passes through all four national parks of the Podlaskie Voivodeship.

Overview

  • Marking: red.
  • Surface: asphalt and dirt roads.
  • Runs through Białowieża, Narew, Biebrza and Wigry National Parks as well as the Suwałki Landscape Park.

  • Białowieża, Narew, Suraż, Tykocin, Pentowo (the stork village), Goniądz, Osowiec-Twierdza, Sztabin, Wigry, Stańczyki.

  • The trail is part of the Green Ways – Greenways network.
  • Marking is irregular – best on the northern section.

Seasonality and hours

Best period: spring–autumn (stork nesting season). The trail is open.

Getting there

Convenient access points: Białowieża, Tykocin, Goniądz, Suwałki/Wigry. Reachable by car and rail (e.g. to Hajnówka, Suwałki).
