Wieś Kostrzyca
Radziwiłłówka is a forested hill 465 m above sea level in the Rudawy Janowickie range, above the village of Kostrzyca in the Jelenia Góra district. On its summit stand the ruins of a romantic hunting lodge, and an artificial cave was carved into a nearby granite outcrop. The name of the hill commemorates the Lithuanian Radziwiłł family.
The building was raised in 1790 on the initiative of Count Carl Georg von Hoym, who also laid out the adjoining park. Three decades later the estate passed to Antoni Henryk Radziwiłł, governor of the Grand Duchy of Poznań. The structure was never a real stronghold, and its Gothic costume served purely to create a mood. In time it also functioned as a mountain hostel.
A short but steep forest path leads to the summit. The walls are unsecured, so watch out for loose stones and uneven ground. Traces of the former park layout with mature trees survive all around.
