Wieś Chwalimierz
Chwalimierz is a small village in the Środa Śląska district in Lower Silesia, some fifteen kilometres from Środa Śląska itself. What stands here are the remains of a grand residence built in 1885 by Georg von Kramsta, a member of a Silesian family of industrialists. The building was designed in the Neo-Renaissance spirit and counted among the most opulent in the area.
The palace was devastated at the end of the Second World War and has been falling into ruin ever since. The clearest surviving element is the square, four-storey tower housing the staircase — a landmark visible from the road. The rest of the walls is heavily incomplete, overgrown and unsecured, so the interiors can only be viewed from the outside.
Next to the palace stands a preserved farm complex with residential and utility buildings, along with relics of the boundary wall, cobblestones and a moat from the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries. Together they form a legible layout of a former landed estate and make a rewarding goal for a short walk through the village. The terrain is flat and access runs along local roads.
