Busko-Zdrój
Zimne Wody is a nature reserve two kilometres from Busko-Zdrój in the Świętokrzyskie region. It consists of grassy hills formed on gypsum, in which water has carved karst features.
A network of paths leads around the gypsum outcrops with their characteristic crystals known as swallowtails. Numerous small springs flow from the rocks, their water fit to drink. The grasslands host thermophilous plants such as the flat sea holly and the spring pheasant's eye, and two specimens are protected as natural monuments.
One of the hills carries a viewing terrace with a panorama of the Borzykowa Basin, the Szaniec Plateau and the ranges of the Świętokrzyskie Mountains. Picnic shelters stand at its foot, welcome on hot days. The reserve is reached on foot, with some 600 metres of path left from Stawowa street.
