Podlesie, Przecław
Bagno Przecławskie is a peatland reserve in the Przecław commune, Mielec county, established in 1979 over an area of more than 25 ha. It protects peat bog plant communities typical of the Sandomierz Basin, preserved here despite past peat extraction.
Peat digging left behind shallow bog pools that are gradually being overgrown by stunted pine and birch. Quaking bog mats, raised bog moss communities and boggy pine woodland occur here, while the wet habitats favour amphibians, reptiles and wetland birds. The landscape changes markedly through the year and looks best in late spring.
An educational path about 830 metres long leads through the reserve, fitted with boards explaining how the bog is built and who lives in it. The route is short, but the ground can be boggy, so high boots are advisable and it is better to keep to the marked course.
