Rzeczna, Wieś Czeszewo
Czeszewski Las is a landscape nature reserve of more than 220 hectares, established in 2004 within the Żerków-Czeszewo Landscape Park, on the border of the Miłosław and Żerków municipalities. It protects a natural complex of woodland and oxbow lakes in the floodplain of the Warta.
The greatest impression is made by the mighty oaks, estimated to be around 160 years old. The largest reach 34 metres in height, with trunks up to four metres in circumference. Spring floodwaters, moist riparian forests and overgrowing oxbows create a mosaic of habitats rich in birds and in insects that depend on deadwood.
Roads lead to the reserve from the south: from Żerków via Gąsiorów or Lgów. From Czeszewo you can also cross the Warta by ferry, although the crossing requires the consent of the Jarocin Forest District. The ground can be waterlogged, so high-topped boots are useful.
