Wieś Choroń
The Linden Avenue in Choroń is a line of trees about 570 metres long, running between Szkolna and Częstochowska streets in the Myszków district, on the edge of the Kraków-Częstochowa Upland. It was granted the status of a natural monument in 1993, when it consisted of 29 ancient lindens.
The oldest lindens are now more than two and a half centuries old. After the avenue came under protection, the municipality ordered supplementary planting, so the row is dense once again — some 130 trees, old and young, grow here. The difference between generations is clear: massive, hollowed trunks stand beside slender young lindens.
The avenue lies away from built-up areas, making it a good spot for a quiet walk far from traffic. It looks best in spring, when the lindens are in bloom, and in autumn as the leaves turn yellow. In summer a local picnic called Prażuchy Chorońskie is held nearby, with tastings of regional dishes.
