Zaurolandia is an amusement park in Biskupin in the Pałuki region, spread over twenty hectares on the shore of Lake Rogowskie. The main attraction is a collection of life-size dinosaur models set among greenery along the walking paths. Each of them has a small board with basic information about the species, which turns the walk into a simple palaeontology lesson.
The park was designed above all with the youngest visitors in mind. The models are not fenced off like museum exhibits, so children can touch them and even climb onto the smaller ones.
Besides the dinosaur alley there is a Palaeontological Museum with fossils from various epochs, a go-kart track and the Pirate Train. For children there is a large playground, a rope park and a wooden maze, and by the water you can hire kayaks, pedal boats and rowing boats.
Small catering outlets are located in the main courtyard, and souvenirs can be bought in the nearby shop. An inn and a hotel operate right next to the park. Zaurolandia lies north of Gniezno, by national road number 55, in the immediate neighbourhood of the famous settlement in Biskupin, so the two attractions are easy to combine in one day.
This is a place above all for families with pre-school and early school age children. A visit usually takes about two hours, and the alleys are wide and hardened, so prams move along them without difficulty. Most of the attractions are outdoors, so it is worth checking the weather forecast before setting off.
