JuraPark in Solec Kujawski covers around 12 hectares of land once degraded by industry, surrounded by forest between Bydgoszcz and Toruń. The park lies on Sportowa Street, away from the town centre. Besides the dinosaur exhibition there is an Earth Museum, an insect park, an amusement zone and a 5D cinema.
The heart of the park is an educational trail with more than a hundred 1:1 scale models of prehistoric animals, made by palaeo-sculptors. The route is arranged chronologically, following successive periods in the history of the Earth, and boards beside the models describe the development of life and the vegetation of the time.
It is aimed above all at families with children and organised groups. Walking the trail itself takes about an hour, but with the cinema and the play zone it is easy to spend half a day here. The paths are surfaced, so pushchairs pose no problem.
