Open-air science garden in Czyżyny

A six-hectare educational park, a branch of Kraków's museum of technology, opened in 2007 as the first facility of its kind in Poland. It was modelled on the Sensory Experience Field in Nuremberg. The entire exhibition stands in the open air, among lawns and trees.

What to see

The core consists of interactive devices demonstrating the laws of physics: spinning carriages, an observation telescope, a Cartesian diver and an acoustic telegraph. Each one is operated by the visitors themselves. There is also a geological display, a scent zone and a green maze with quotations from Stanisław Lem.

Who it suits

A place for families with children — learning through play and touch, with no display cases or restrictions. The paths are wide and paved, so prams pass easily. Allow two hours for a relaxed walk around. The park operates seasonally, only in the warmer part of the year.

  • Reception pavilion with a ticket office
  • Paved paths across the whole site
  • Toilets
  • Rest areas among the greenery
Visit duration: approx. 2 hours Seasonality: Seasonal — an open-air site, open in the warmer part of the year
