The European Fairy Tale Centre named after Koziołek Matołek has operated in Pacanów since 2010 and is a cultural institution aimed above all at children. It was created in the village made famous by the hero of Kornel Makuszyński's books, and both the programme and the interiors draw on that tradition.
The core of the offer is an interactive exhibition leading through the world of fairy tales, with sets, tasks and hands-on elements. Animators run art workshops and games that stretch the imagination, while performances and film screenings take place in the auditorium. The centre also organises a festival of children's culture.
It is mainly a proposal for families with pre-school and early-school children and for organised groups. A visit usually takes about an hour, and as most of it happens indoors, it works in any weather.
