An archaeological open-air museum on Puck Bay

The Seal Hunters' Settlement Cultural Park stands in Rzucewo in Kashubia, on the shore of Puck Bay. It is an archaeological open-air museum recreating a village from several thousand years ago, from the Neolithic, when seal hunters, fishermen and craftsmen lived here. The village gave its name to the Rzucewo culture, one of the more interesting Stone Age cultures in Poland.

What to see

Huts, kilns and workshops have been reconstructed on the site, where old crafts are demonstrated. The Seal Hunters' Trail leads through the settlement and follows the daily life of people living where land met sea. The exhibitions “Rzucewo in the Stone Age” and “Archaeological sites in the Kashubian landscape” present excavation finds: pottery, stone tools and amber objects.

The settlement lies by the seaside promenade, next to the palace in Rzucewo and a few kilometres from Puck. It makes a convenient stop while touring the shore of Puck Bay.
