Oceanika is a large public aquarium operating since 2016 in Chrusty in the Świętokrzyskie region, as part of the Świętokrzyska Polana complex. The building was designed in the shape of a ship, and its interior holds around 300,000 litres of water divided between tanks recreating different biotopes.
The display gathers more than five hundred animal species and numerous aquatic plants from various climate zones — from coral reefs to fresh waters. The tanks are arranged to show whole environments rather than single specimens. Visits are guided, with the guide leading the group through successive halls and adapting the commentary to the age of the audience.
The place has a clearly educational character and is aimed above all at children and school groups. The tour takes place indoors, regardless of the weather. Świętokrzyska Polana also offers an amusement park and green areas, and the Świętokrzyskie Mountains and Kielce are close by.
