A mini zoo in the Castle Park

The Municipal Stables and the mini zoo are set in the historic Castle Park in Żywiec, also known as the Habsburg Park. The small animal enclosure is a natural stop during a walk along the park alleys and is visited above all by families with younger children.

Animals and horses

The pens hold goats, donkeys, a cow, peacocks, hens, canaries and parrots. Next to the zoo there is a municipal stable with horses and a pony that gives short rides to the youngest visitors. The runs are visible straight from the path, so seeing everything usually takes between fifteen and thirty minutes.

The park around

The park has been restored and is now among the most popular spots in town: ponds, old trees and walking paths lead towards the castle and the Habsburg palace. Admission to the mini zoo is free, which makes it a convenient idea for a break on a trip across the Żywiec region.
