Leśny Park Niespodzianek covers fifteen hectares of old beech woodland in the Zawodzie district of Ustroń, at the foot of Równica. It was created in 2002 and combines an animal park, an educational trail and a walking area in the Silesian Beskids.
The strongest impression comes from the mouflons and fallow deer roaming freely across the whole site, as the animals approach visitors on their own. The enclosures are home to European bison, red deer, roe deer, wild boar, wildcats and raccoon dogs. The route runs along forest paths that are steep in places, so comfortable shoes are useful.
The showpiece of the park is the flight display of birds of prey at the falconry, together with the owl house. Boards on the wildlife and plants of the Beskids, a nature and forest centre, a fairy tale alley and a playground complete the visit. Allow at least an hour and a half for an unhurried walk.
