The only zoological garden in the Lublin region

The zoo in Zamość has been running since 1918 on Szczebrzeska street, close to the historic Old Town. Almost fourteen hectares are home to more than two and a half thousand animals of over three hundred species. It is the only facility of its kind in the Lublin province and one of very few in eastern Poland.

Who you can see

The collection includes lions, tigers, a brown bear, Bactrian camels, zebras and numerous species of antelopes and monkeys. Separate pavilions hold poison dart frogs and a tarantula collection, and in summer the butterfly house opens. The enclosures are arranged along a loop of paths running through the whole site.

On site

After the tour you can rest in the cafe or at the dumpling bar. There is also a rope park and a pushchair rental point. Walking the garden usually takes about an hour and a half, and the nearby Old Town makes it easy to combine the visit with a stroll around the Great Market Square.
