A Masurian park of native wildlife

The Wild Animal Park in Kadzidłowo lies in the Pisz Forest within the Masurian Landscape Park, a few kilometres from Ruciane-Nida. It was founded by Dr Andrzej Krzywiński and takes its patron from the naturalist Benedykt Dybowski. The park presents native species rather than exotic ones.

How the visit works

The enclosures are spread across forest meadows, so the animals live in near-natural conditions. The route is about two kilometres long and is walked with a guide; the tour can last up to an hour and a half. Many animals are tame — visitors may enter some enclosures, feed the animals and stroke them.

Good to know

Breeding and protecting endangered species is a core task here, so visits are educational and run in set groups. The ground is flat and passable with a pushchair, but dogs are not admitted because of the free-living animals. The surroundings are classic Masuria: lakes and pine forest.
