A zoo in the centre of Poland

Borysew Zoo lies a few kilometres from Poddębice in the Łódź region, well away from any big city. This private zoological garden has gathered more than 130 animal species on spacious, tree-shaded grounds that are also easy to cover with a pushchair.

Animals and shows

Its trademark are the rare colour morphs of big cats — white Bengal tigers, white lions and black leopards. Beyond them there are capybaras, tapirs, lemurs, kangaroos, camels and antelopes, while in the water section birds can be watched from pedal boats. The feeding shows draw large crowds, especially the one with the seal.

For children

The Mini Zoo lets visitors step into the pen with alpacas and sheep, next to it stand a large playground and an indoor play hall for the youngest. A restaurant with a view over the garden operates on site, and the zoo runs its own educational programme for school groups. Allow at least two hours to see everything without rushing.
