Ostriches below the Jurassic castles

The ostrich farm in Kiełkowice lies in the Kraków-Częstochowa Upland, a few kilometres from the castle ruins in Ogrodzieniec. It is a small agritourism holding with a breeding flock open to visitors, which makes it a natural short stop while touring the Trail of the Eagles' Nests.

What to see

The paddocks hold African ostriches and Australian ones, that is emus — birds rarely seen in Poland outside specialist farms. They are watched over low fencing, practically within arm's reach. Walking the farm takes about half an hour, so it combines easily with a visit to Ogrodzieniec.

Good to know

The holding also runs a wider tourist offer: sleigh rides and horse riding in winter, and small family celebrations all year round. There is a barbecue and a place to sit and eat, partly roofed and partly in the open. The ground is flat and accessible with a pushchair.

  • Parking at the farm
  • Covered seating area with barbecue
  • Animal paddocks
Visit duration: approx. 30 min Seasonality: Year-round, with sleigh rides and horse riding in winter
