Nałęczowski Zwierzyniec, also called the small zoo, has been running for well over a decade at a private farm on Kamieniak Street, close to the centre of Nałęczów. It is an intimate place, far from the scale of large zoological gardens, but easy to combine with a walk through the spa park and the historic part of town.
The collection consists mainly of gentle, smaller species: ostriches, peacocks, ornamental hens, rabbits, ferrets, arctic foxes, sheep and Feliński ponies. The enclosures stand close together, so the animals are watched from a few steps away rather than across a wide moat. Horse rides are also possible on the farm, as is a bonfire arranged in advance with the owners.
It works best as a short stop for families with pre-school and early school age children. The visit takes less than an hour, so it fits easily into a day spent in Nałęczów or into a journey across the Lublin Upland.
