Among parrots in the heart of Podlasie

The parrot house in Białystok is an aviary of exotic birds open to visitors, located in the Białostoczek district on Aleja Tysiąclecia Państwa Polskiego. Around 270 square metres are home to more than eighty parrots representing over twenty species — from small conures to large macaws and cockatoos.

What a visit looks like

Most of the birds move freely around the hall and will land on visitors hands, shoulders or heads, which turns the visit into an encounter rather than a look at cages. Only the largest species, such as macaws and blue-streaked lories, stay enclosed. The birds can be fed with food bought on site, and the staff advise which species may eat what.

Who it suits

This is an attraction for families with children and for bird lovers, and a good choice for a rainy or frosty day, since the whole display is indoors. It pays to stay calm — noise and sudden movements startle the parrots and cut the pleasure of the meeting short.
