Prywatna 14A, Bytom
Suchogórski Labirynt Skalny covers about 20 hectares in the northern part of Bytom, around the Sucha Góra district. It is the second protected nature and landscape complex within the city, after Żabie Doły. The area grew up on former mining workings and rocky ridges that nature has gradually covered with forest.
A network of small valleys, gullies and steep ridges with dolomite outcrops forms a maze that invites aimless wandering. The tree stand includes silver birch, Norway maple, sycamore and small-leaved lime, while the undergrowth holds protected species such as the stemless carline thistle and the broad-leaved helleborine. A pond survives in one of the hollows — a habitat for amphibians and birds.
A red waymarked trail and a green educational path with information boards run through the site; the walk takes roughly an hour. The paths are unsurfaced, in places steep and muddy after rain, so they are not suitable for pushchairs. Entry is free all year round.
