Gierzyna Pond is hidden in the extensive forests around Miasteczko Śląskie, about two kilometres from the popular Nakło-Chechło reservoir. It is a small, quiet body of water protected as an ecological site — a place for a walk and for watching wildlife rather than for sunbathing and swimming.
The pond is stocked with fish and regularly visited by anglers. Along the banks and in the shallows it is easy to spot birds, herons among them, while the trees by the water show clear traces of beaver activity: gnawed trunks and felled branches. The silence and the absence of buildings make wildlife watching particularly rewarding here.
A roofed shelter with benches and a designated fire site stands by the water — a good stop on a cycling loop. The marked Leśna Rajza cycling route leads to the pond, and you can also drive in from Stacyjna Street and cover the last few hundred metres on foot along a forest track.
