A sandstone rock town

Szwajcaria Lwówecka is a group of rock formations on the edge of Lwówek Śląski, within the Bóbr Valley Landscape Park. The sandstone towers and walls reach up to 50 metres and owe their shapes to intense frost weathering. The name refers to the similar rocks of Saxon Switzerland in Germany.

Visiting and the viewpoint

Walking paths and an educational trail have been laid out among the rocks, and there is a designated fire pit. A viewpoint at the top opens up a panorama of the Karkonosze range and the Bóbr valley in good weather. The visit is short, but the terrain is varied — steps, narrow passages and rock ledges.

Access and surroundings

The starting point lies close to Jakuba Jaśkiewicza Street in Lwówek Śląski. From the town centre the green trail of the Lwówek Rock Formations leads there, about 2 km long. The area works well as a base for further trips: the Bóbr valley, Grodziec castle and the foothills below the Karkonosze are all a short drive away.
